Physiotherapy can help to decrease pain and improve function and mobility, allowing you to get the best out of your body. It can help you to achieve new goals or get back to fitness after an injury or operation.
Physiotherapy can help with limitation in movement, weakness or muscle and joint pain, including headaches which can often be referred from the muscles and joints around the neck.​

Return to sport
Guiding you step by step through your rehabilitation from injury to ensure a smooth return to the sport that you love requires setting realistic goals, patient education and ongoing assessment of function and technique. Using sports specific rehab exercises from the beginning is a great way of keeping you on track with your goals. Taping can help facilitate you to return to sport sooner while still managing your condition.

Post-operative rehabilitation
Whether your surgery was elective such as a total hip or knee replacement or due to a traumatic injury, physiotherapy is an important part of your rehabilitation. Guiding you through your journey back to function from the very early stages right through to your return to fitness. I work closely with your consultants throughout to ensure that you get the best continued care.

Pre-operative programs
If you know you are going to be having an operation it is important to be as prepared as possible, I can help you get as strong and mobile as possible before the operation to aid your recovery afterwards.
Practicing some of the exercises that you will need to perform after the operation, and ensuring that your home is set up for your discharge from hospital can make the whole process seem a lot less daunting.

Osteoarthritis Programs
Osteoarthritis can cause pain and dysfunction and usually occurs in the weight-bearing joints such as knees and hips, this can have a serious impact on your mobility and quality of life. Exercises to strengthen your muscles, mobilisations and electrotherapy such as TENS can all help you to manage your condition. If you require an x-ray or referral to a consultant then I can liaise with your GP to request this.​
